The owner tasked architects to conceptualize a house that would suit the needs of young family . Maximizing plot boundaries, the final design resulted in a new 3.5-storey structure. The owner requested the designers to recreate the luxury hotel vibe in their house.

The brief was quite simple: a house for a young couple with a master bedroom and other bedrooms for children in the future and for visiting parents/in-laws, also karaoke room on the highest floor.

The strategy is to divide the program of the house into three and a half levels, the 1st level includes a garage and service area, the living spaces were being elevated to the 2nd level to be more exposed, more open, which comes with a pool and park view. The 3rd level includes a master bedroom and children’s bedrooms, and home office. On the top floor, rooftop deck, karaoke room and services were programmed.

To create a sense of spaciousness, the designer employ simple spatial techniques like choreographing the entrance sequence and bringing people to walk through a compressed entrance to be greeted with a reflective pool, open living concept and double volume living space.  All the bedrooms are placed around the shaft. The designer has also made sure that all the rooms have openable window to achieve great ventilation.

To response to the brief, the designer created open living plan that is connected with the kitchen and dining. Nowadays, modern kitchens are becoming much more than just spaces to prepare and serve food, the kitchen is now a place where friends and family meet, greet and share at the start and end of each day. That is being further extended into a social zone that can accommodate more than a few as it welcomes the outdoors inside. Also, folding glass door are installed as a way to connect the common area with the pool/deck outside.
