The project is located in a residential area north Jakarta, the house is developed for a young family with two kids.
On the 1st floor we can find: garage, office and services area. The living spaces were being elevated to the 2nd level with playroom in the mezzanine level. On the 3rd level there are more private spaces like master bedroom and kids room. On the level above, the laundry area and roof garden.
The spaces receive a great amount of natural illumination, given by large windows on the kitchen and dining area and from the skylight. The designer has also made sure that all the rooms have openable window to achieve great ventilation and natural light throughout the house.
Studio Dinding team presented a rather humble solution to the couple by designing kids-friendly house and playroom with a large window for surveillance purposes. Besides, the designer has also break some nooks and niches into the walls with a cave-like nook built for their kids. The oval shaped opening under the staircase functions as a seating area that gives playful characteristic. Besides, the designer incorporated a mirrored feature wall to make the space feel larger & allow the client to keep an eye on the kids while watching TV. All the furniture and edges were chamfered to ensure the safety for the kids.
Materiality wise, dark grey, white and dark wood tones were used on the floor and on the wall to create minimalistic spaces and also to get a contrast between them.
